Five Steps to Planning a Fairy Tale Wedding

Are you ready to plan your fairy tale wedding? If so, you are not alone. More and more brides and grooms shy away from hiring a wedding coordinator or consultant in order to have more control over the way their nuptials will look and feel. Additionally, some have found that they money they save on hiring that individual more than makes up for the special deals she or he can get with respect to flowers, catering, and so on.
You want to plan your fairy tale wedding and you know pretty much what you would like to do. You might have already been dreaming of this occasion for many years to come, and over time you have fleshed out this dream more and more, until you can finally see all the details coming together. When your Prince Charming finally proposed marriage on bended knee, and handed you that beautiful engagement ring, you were good to go full steam ahead and make that dream a reality.

Yet are you really ready to plan your own fairy tale wedding? Do you have some nagging doubts in the back of your mind that perhaps you are in over your head? Should you have hired that wedding coordinator who promised you a special deal on fairytale theme wedding favors? The short answer is “no.” You are more than capable of planning this wedding on your own, and if you follow these five easy steps, you too will have the nuptials of your dreams!

1.For a fairy tale wedding, you need a fairy tale location. In the real estate business it is all about locations, and the same is true in the wedding business. You may have already picked out the location of your dreams, or one very similar to it. If you know the location, now is the time to contact the facility to make sure that it is available for the day you and your husband to be have picked out. If you are not sure about the particular facility yet, but know the kinds of facilities you are looking for pick up a visitor’s magazine to your city and look through it. Chances are you will find there the best location that suits your wants and needs. Once you have something particular in mind, do not hesitate but go ahead and reserve it.

2.Another thing a fairy tale wedding needs is a location for the party. After all, a ceremony at a beautiful old church is sadly overshadowed by a reception in a dull hotel meeting room. Find a reception location that goes with the theme of your wedding – and then book it right away for the date and time that suits your needs.

3.Now that you have a location for the wedding and also for the reception nailed down, it is time to discuss outfits. You probably know exactly what kind of gown you want. Simply pick your groom’s suit to match the style of your gown. From there, have the bridal party’s dresses match the theme and your outfits, and the same for the groom’s side.

4.No fairy tale wedding is complete without flowers, a cake, and some fairytale theme wedding favors. Resist the temptation to purchase prepackaged wedding favors from a big box store, and instead use some creativity to make your own. Also, keep in mind that flowers will be most cost effective if they are seasonal, but some locations have their own – such as rose gardens of botanical gardens. Do not worry overmuch about flowers in such locations.

Last but not least, you will need to have someone officiating at your nuptials. Consider if you want a religious ceremony or simply a secular one. Now is the time to contact and finalize your plans with an officiant who will also be able to help you obtain your marriage license. Once this is done, you are good to go!
