Feminism Is An Eye-OpenerAdded: 11/22/2007 |

The 20th century has given birth to many prominent and viable ideologies in the human society and one of which is feminism. We have been hearing of this ideology for a number of decades, but what is it in reality? Feminism is the belief that a person's character cannot be judged on their gender, that we all ought to have a right to thoughtfulness regardless of physical appearance, that heresy from orthodox is only genius, that kindness and reverence are given and deserved by all, that the most sincere form of affection is not limited to one gender, as intellectual thoughts and meaning and purpose and emotion are not limited based on one's sex oran.
Truly speaking this very ideology has emerged as a dominant figure in the recent world and from that time has been involved in the though process of the international human order in the greatest extent. Keeping this in concern feminism is regarded as a belief or notion which speaks eloquently that the love between two people is less real; the more one tries to dominate the other because of gender. It is the call of the angels of truth for fairness and equality, compassion and knowledge. It also implies that none should be exempt from love, beyond the border of empathy, held under the bondage of cruelty, bound to in a tight fist, the belief that nobody should be subjected mercilessly to the brutality offered by human tyrants because of their sex -- this belief is Feminism. In this respect feminism like all other creeds that are founded on humaneness and passion for life continue to exist and do exhibit itself at any place where there is an open mind, everywhere there is an open heart, everywhere there exists a Freethinker willing to destroy the Cyclopes of ill-thought tradition. What inference do we draw from here? In this way or that, it brings to us the deduction that feminism is indeed a conviction that woman deserve to be treated equally as men, their gender not influencing how we regard them. Feminism is, on the other hand, standing in every kind and gentle-hearted soul. But is there any nee of such ideal when there is the preponderance off too many ideologies from socialism and capitalism in the international political and economic echelon? To the proponents of feminism there are. Reason? With the passing of each year escalating repression on the women is perceived, and in this day and age more and me horrendous exploitations are inflicted on women, ranging from economic to sexual ones. It has been revealed from the international studies that of all the greatest arguments against the equality of the sexes, none are as great as ignorance, deceit, and conviction in orthodox values. There are many values which were parts and parcel of the earlier but now outdated social systems are forced upon the weaker section to follow, and grave punishments are rendered if not done. Whereas there is the need of world full of justice, fairness, intellectual and emotional freedom, but in reality the barbaric and inhumane sentiments are followed with the greatest skill!
Bu what should be done in reality? Femininity, no less than masculinity, should be considered an asset, dependant on context. Indeed, the strategies of middle class feminists that led to increased education for women and second wave feminism may in part be responsible for the reconstitution of the mental/ manual divide that indulges and thereby contributes greatly in restricting working class women to employment centered on their 'traditional' skills. No capital has a 'pure' field, as there is always resistance; the family may be said to be dominated by the gender sufficiently to constitute its primary field. The family has long been studied within feminism as the primary site of gender domination and social reproduction. Feminism is therefore regarded as that ideology that helps the growth of self-consciousness among the hapless women. Now if this movement succeeds what shall be obtained? By learning to be a woman, she without knowing reproduces the system that subordinates the feminine; by selecting the forms of education and employment that she does; by adopting the behavior considered suitable for her sex and teaching this to her daughter, a woman plays an important role in the continuation of the existing social hierarchy. The ideal of feminism is to break this existing social phenomenon.
