Revlon was founded in 1932, by a man names Charles Revson and his brother Joseph, along with a chemist, Charles Lachman, who contributed the "L" in the Revlon names. It all started with a single product, a new type of nail enamel, which used pigments instead of dyes. From there Revlon developed a variety of new shades of opaque nail enamel. In six years the company became a multimillion dollar organization. Revlon makeup can be purchased just about anywhere now.

Revlon has been in existence for many years, and even though they are one of the higher priced cosmetic lines, at least for the average pharmacy or department store, they still have a large following. Customers have different reasons for using cosmetics from Revlon, but some reasons are standard answers from customer to customer. When a product has been around as long as Revlon, one tends to trust the name and expect a certain quality because of that name.
