A name Korean is viewed by the countries outside of Korea (North and South) as rather weird due to the tough pronunciation of the name. The names that are an everyday occurrence in Korea are not everyday occurrences in the Western countries of the world. But flip the coin the other side and you see that Western world names will be viewed with the same amount of weirdness that we view Korean names.

The names Korean families have are often quite interesting if you trace the heritage back to the beginning. Each family chose their own name, and for centuries now those same names have been used again and again. It's quite awesome to see a culture that is so proud of its roots that it doesn't change things over time. Other cultures give in and make changes to fit in, to change things up, yet the names Korean people have are able to stand firm for years. It's simply amazing, and something all cultures should look to for some inspiration.
