There really is not a body of international law like we understand law in the United States. There is no legislature to pass laws, no police force to arrest people for violating laws and no courts to punish offenders of laws. The closest thing to what we know as laws are various conventions and treaties that countries agree to enforce within their own borders. The closest thing to an international adoption law is the Hague Convention on Adoptions.
