Exploit And Damage Of Computers Through Malicious Softwares

Added: 11/02/2007

As internet services are provided everywhere and keeping in mind that thing is not good or bad its how people use them for themselves. Where internet is being widely used for the betterment of the world, the same way there are people who work over the internet for the worst of the world like hackers, rippers and software developers who rather invest themselves in something creative are rather happy in developing malicious softwares to exploit and destruct of other people’s computers.

These software developers create such malicious softwares that can partially or fully damage a person’s computer. Malicious software or malware is the term for unsolicited software intended to annoy, exploit and destroy. The softwares/malwares include annoying adwares, viruses, backdoor Trojans and keylogging. The main purpose of these softwares are to exploit and damage the files, folders as much as possible or leaving your computer vulnerable to the hackers by shutting down the anti virus software you have installed in your computer.

The question is where you get infected by these malicious softwares? The people who have been a victim of these malwares might already know. The main source of getting infected by these software is online dating websites that are visited by almost everyone a couple of times while they are online and other ways is either clicking on ads, pop-up ads or fake buttons designed to launch a software through a website. One might click on a link saying you might “win a lottery” or a “shopping spree” or ads that say they are giving stuff away for free. Well let me tell you something there is no such thing as “free” atleast not over the internet. So one should not believe that they might win something for free over the internet because it’s all scam and the main victims of these scams are youngsters, kids or new internet users who are naïve enough to believe this crap.

The main purpose of these softwares is to either corrupt your hard drive files and folders, mess with your operating system files by either corrupting them too or deleting them, changing your settings, your wallpaper, opening nasty ads or pop-ups etc. Example malicious software that can exploit and corrupt your files is making a mistake of typing www.googkle.com instead of www.google.com. This will infect your computer with backdoor Trojans, spywares etc. This mistake is most likely to happen as the alphabet “L” is right next to “K” a common typing mistake can cost you a lot of damage so be careful.

Now why these malicious softwares exploit and damage your computer because some people don’t want you to be happy. I guess people like it when you suffer through the malware they created making them feel good about themselves. Sad! I know but it’s true. The ways you can defend yourself against these softwares is to teach your kids not to visit or click on any useless ad. Anti-virus software as well as an anti-malware software should be running at all times on your computer. Scan your computer on a daily basis. Because trust me once you get a malware software in your computer if it does not exploit and damage your computer right away it will after days or months. The only way to get rid of it will be to either format your hard drive and loose all the data and files you have saved in your computer or buy a new computer.

Every good thing comes with a price. So a wonderful technology of internet comes with malicious softwares and viruses to exploit and damage your computer. Just browse smartly, download softwares from reliable websites and scan them before running them and you are good to go.
