When you are talking about The Hudsucker Proxy you are going to find a lot of different reviews about it. That is just the type of movie this is after all. Whenever the movie first came out Roger Ebert (a very famous film critic) said that the makers of the film must feel like the plot is unimportant. Also, he felt like there was a dark feel to the movie, or as he put it, “A kind of chill in the air.” Of course, later on the movie did get better reviews, however, this was not for a long time. In fact, it was not until the death of Anna Nicole Smith in 2007 that the film became well known. Many fans of the Coen brothers have been growing and have started to give positive feedback on the movie. Now this movie is a favorite to many fans of the Coen brothers. It really just depends on the type of movie it is and when it comes out. The Hudsucker Proxy is a movie that must have been ahead of its time. This is why it was not liked very much back in the 90's, but was loved in later years. In fact, it was over ten years ahead of its time, and when I say that I am not talking about the special effects that were used. This is a movie that had a dark comedy plot that is now very popular in the United States of America. However, back in the 90's the dark comedy movies were not something that everyone wanted to watch, and they felt bad for laughing at it, even though that is what you are suppose to do during a comedy.
This is a movie that you are going to like if you want to watch a dark comedy movie. The whole thing is not dark feeling, however, it is not a slap stick comedy either. It is one of those types that is funny in a way that really should not be. There have been a lot of movies that have came out that are funny like this but are also dark. One of the ones that came out not to long ago would be The Weather Man. Either way you should at least try to watch this movie once to see if you like these types of movies or not. You may turn out to like them a lot.
