It is also recognized by the World Federation of Sports. From the year 1957 onwards this sporting event has become quadrennial. This may also be called the Olympics of the Jews.

The Maccabiah Games are considered to be the third largest sporting event in the world. As the name suggests, it’s a sporting event for Jewish countries held in Israel. It has been going on since 1932 and takes place after every four years. The third Maccabiah Games, scheduled for 1938, was delayed until 1950 due to the rise of Nazism in Europe and the outbreak of the Second World War
