Horse racing is popular not just amongst those that love horses and high speed chases, but also amongst those of the betting community. Horse riding allows millions of people across the globe to bet on the horse they tip to win, and this can bring in lots of money for the economy. Although it is not allowed in some places (like the United Arab Emirates) it is extremely popular in others, like Hong Kong. In Hong Kong betting is so profitable to the economy that it brings in 11% of the region’s tax revenue.

I never really take much of an interest in horse racing until it is time to watch the races of the triple crown. Something about that quest for horse racing immortality that is all wrapped up in three races that just gets me. I think a lot of people take an interest in the horse racing triple crown and love watching all three races to see if history will be made in their lifetime.
