It hosts San Jose events on Halloween and Friday the 13th, and was built by the widow of fun manufacturer William Winchester. It is said that she was told by a medium that in order for her to live, the spirits of those killed by the gun her husband invented would require a residence and for her to keep building on her house around the clock, day and night, every day. She did so until her death in 1922. The house is a marvel of architecture, and if you are a couple who likes to break out of the mainstream, you will love this venue for your special day!

Naturally, if your taste runs more along ordinary lines, and if you actually find that you would like a very traditional wedding in a very traditional San Jose venue, then you will fall in love with the Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph. It has a long, rich history, and Catholics will love the distinction of basilica that will add depth to any Catholic wedding. Yet make sure that you book this church in advance, since the waiting list is likely a long one!

As you can see, San Jose has something for everyone, and given the many wonderful, and sometimes apparently outlandish venues, it is no small surprise that the residents simply adore the many weddings that take place there.
