A disease sexually transmitted can be severe and life threatening if they are not treated quickly or if they can't be treated at all. The best way to prevent yourself from getting any sexually transmitted disease is by total abstinence from sex, using a condom properly or having a monogamous relationship with a non infected person. If you do think you have been infected, see your health care professional immediately and get tested.
