Disappointed In Australia Dating Ads

It is very exciting to study the personal ads in Australian newspapers and magazines. Many of them have photos of attractive people. Some of them are well-written, making the advertiser appear too good to be true. Because a former boss of mine found a great wife through these ads, I was encouraged to try my luck, hoping to find someone as great as the one he found. My luck was not as good as his.
Australian personal ads in newspapers in Australia have confused me far too many times. Matchmaking in Australia has left me bewildered, upset and angry in many instances. However, Australian dating is wonderful when all things work as expected.
A former boss of mine from the USA has a wonderful Australian wife and three children. He found his wife when he read some Australia personals pages in an old newspaper that someone had left in a public toilet. He tore out a page, made some calls and ended up with a beautiful lady to date. He later married her, and they commute from Australia to the USA and back again two or three times each year.
It is because of the success of my former boss that I decided to try my luck. Australia dating helped him to find the woman of his dreams so I expected the same results. As I said, though, I had some disappointments.
I recall one of the dates I arranged through a personals website in Australia. The person advertised herself as Pat. It’s a rather old name, but I took a chance and arranged to meet Pat at a coffee house in Perth. I was told to look for a girl with reddish colored hair and wearing a flowered blouse and gray slacks. I will confess that I was eager to meet Pat so I was very early. I had a table for us and kept my eye on the entrance door. Finally, exactly on time, Pat came in. I recognized her immediately, and she seemed to sense that I was the guy who had set up the date. Her hair was auburn with streaks of light brown. Her blouse augmented the looks of her face. I was so proud of what the Australia dating site had found for me.
Pat was exciting, attractive and talkative, although her voice was rather low for a woman. I decided to concentrate on the positives. We had some coffee and dessert and agreed to go out for a walk in the moonlight. Pat pressed against me as we walked. She smelled so good. The whole situation excited me. We soon found ourselves in a park and sat on an isolated bench. A first kiss led to a second one which led to touching each other’s faces. It all stopped rather quickly from there. Pat’s makeup was covering her beard stubble. Her flowered blouse had hidden her prominent Adam’s apple. Realizing that Pat was a male caused me to run, to escape. I did not ever want to see Pat again.
Another time that bewildered me was when I read an Australia personals column in a newspaper in the local library. I saw an ad with a picture of a young lady. In the photo, she appeared to be around twenty-two years old. When I read the ad, the age was not mentioned. I called the newspaper and applied to the blind ad. In a couple of days, she called me, telling me that I had answered her personals ad. Since I had answered four or five ads, I was not sure which woman she was, but I did not want to confess this to her. I felt sure that all of the ads I had responded to were from attractive females so I pretended that I knew which person she was. After a few minutes of talking, she asked me for a date for the next evening. She made Australia dating so easy by asking me instead of waiting for me to ask her.
She had not seen a photo of me so she did not know much about my appearance. She had told me what she would be wearing, however. Thus, I had the benefit of seeing her come into the restaurant and of deciding whether or not to meet her upon her appearance. In came the dress that she had described on the telephone. Inside this dress was a middle-aged woman, wearing an obvious hairpiece that was made for an older person. I sneaked out a side door. After my escapade with Pat, I was not about to get involved with another lying female.
After two such episodes, I am leery about Australian women who advertise for Australia dating in the personals pages.
