At Lake Dillon, there is plenty to do. You can sightsee all you want and you’ll find beautiful views of Lake Dillon as well as the Rocky Mountains. You can hike, fish, sailboard on the lake, or rent a motorboat or sailboat for the day. If you like to water-ski, Lake Dillon is a great place for that, too.
Another nearby attraction is the Dillon Nature Preserve. Walk or bike along a trail here, which you can access via Dillon or Summit Cove. You’ll see all kinds of scenery on the two trails, from rock formations to meadows to thick forests.
In fact, the Pike National Forest is very near Dillon, Colorado. It includes almost three million acres of breath-taking forest as well as arctic tundra and prairies. You’ll see 14,000-feet mountain peaks and nine wilderness areas here in the Pike National Forest.
If you get tired of sightseeing and enjoying the great outdoors during your vacation to the city of Dillon, Colorado, there are other ways to spend your time. There are a number of tasty places to eat or grab an alcoholic drink. Wild Bill’s Pizza Saloon and Pug Ryan’s Steakhouse and Brewery are two of those. Another good place is the Dillon Dam Brewery, where you can get a tour and sample the products. Once your tank is full, be sure to visit the Dillon Schoolhouse Museum, which was built in 1883. You’ll see a lot of history in this schoolhouse museum. It houses a large collection of education-related artifacts and household items from the late 1800s to the early 1900s, when Dillon was first settled. If you want to visit this museum and get a tour, you’ll need to do it in the summer. For the rest of the year, you have to call ahead and make an appointment.
If the Colorado pioneers interest you, visit the Lula Myers Ranch House on La Bonte Street in Dillon. The ranch house has been moved to Dillon from its original location, but you can still enjoy a tour of this historic dwelling. It was built in 1885, and its two stories were made from logs that were chopped by hand. It even still has its original insulation made from old newspapers. Again, tours run regularly during the summer months. But for off-season tours you must make an appointment to see the Lula Myers Ranch House.

They include: the Best Western Ptarmigan Lodge, the Super 8 Motel Dillon Breckenridge area, the Comfort Suites Dillon and the Dillon Inn. You’ll find it at 276 Dillon Ridge Road in the city of Dillon.
