Devotions are a way of is getting through life, by the word of God, without quite reading the bible. There a scriptures taken from the bible, so that way God hands his words out one step at a time. I believe for grownups reading the bible and trying to conceive it all at once is way too much to comprehend. So Children trying to understand it, it could be even harder from them. In having devotions it's easier for God to show you from day to day how his words affect our lives.
Everyday God has a way of showing us he has Wisdom for even our toughest battles. What is a battle for us is so simple for him to know what we should do. Though he can not just tell us because he wants us to succeed on our very own. This is true for children as well. They have many obstacles in their way growing up and may not know who to talk or even what to say. However, God is always listening and ready to give us advice.
God shows us in many ways, what we should do. Many of us can't see the everyday signs, some of us don't want to see the signs.
If you are like me you may feel like you have failed God, and do not deserve God's wisdom or advice. Though are very thankfully that he stills gives it to you.
No matter who you are or where you go, God is always there and ready to give you advice.
There are many books with devotions for kids in them, there are also web pages devoted for kids also. I know that during the summer there are Vacation bible schools that have a lot of devotions given to children everyday. Some of the devotions won't make sense and they need for them to be discussed further. I find it amazing, because I'm not a big church go'er or anything but I have noticed the times I need some wisdom on my life from God, he does always find a way of getting it to me. Maybe though a song I'm listening to, or a sign I read. A show that I'm watching on T.V.
No matter what, I believe it is a good idea for parents to spend some time and help their children learn about God. Your children will decided what faith they want to follow when they are older, At least you have given you're children a head start in learning that everyday they are given the hand of God, and his Wisdom.
Devotions for kids, are important not only to your family but to God. I know that I don't teach my kids enough about God and the miracles that he gives us everyday. I don't even pray enough. I think that's important though at the end of the day and its time for bed, all I want to do is sleep. so I end up forgetting to pray. I try to remember it as I don't want God to forget about me. Devotions for kids are found everywhere and are a very good way to teach your children about God.
Some scriptures I've seen today in searching that I would like to share are what follow:
"The lord is good to all, and his tender mercies are over all his work."
(Psalm 145:9)
"Do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the lord." (Ephesians 6:4)
I think most like to look up the devotions to get a more understanding of what they mean.
Like me, I would prefer to read a children's bible because it's easier to understand than an adult bible.
