Denise Richards- Once Is Not Enough

Added: 10/26/2007

The trouble with being a famous actress is that life is under total public scrutiny and it takes a toll in private life. For Denise Richards a fashion model turned actress, a turbulent married life has been more in the limelight than her acting abilities. The focus shifted from the box office collections to bedroom troubles when her marriage to actor Charlie Sheen turned sour.

What lies in store for the actress who catapulted to fame with the James Bond flick ‘The World Is Not Enough’ in 1999? The American actress, born to a coffee shop owner and telephone engineer in 1971 is struggling to keep herself in the twilight zone. As competition mounts with the entry of new sex symbols, can one time sexist woman manage to lure audiences to theatres? Every actor needs to consciously develop an image to keep in the minds of the people. With personnel setbacks it becomes difficult. Denise Richards started her career with some forgettable low budget films and some television appearances. It was the James Bond film that helped her to get better roles. Subsequently with movies like ‘Valentine’, ‘Undercover Brother’, ‘Scary Movie 3’ and ‘Love Actually’ she was recognized as a sex symbol. With movies like ‘Wild Things’ she continued to rock. Her role in Blonde and Blonder with another hottie Pamela Anderson consolidated her role as an easy comic. Despite that she is once quoted to have said, “Doing love scenes is always awkward. I mean, it’s just not the normal thing to go to work and lay in bed with your co worker.” She also saw no big deal when she kissed Neve Campbell in ‘Wild Things’. The bad girl has been turning out good performances but not good enough to get her an Oscar, the ultimate recognition for any actor on earth. Denise needs some more good parts to keep her in showbiz for some more time.

Sadly it was Denise Richards’s marital discord with fellow actor Charlie Sheen that has eclipsed her performances with real life drama. The two met while filming ‘Valentine’ and ‘Good Advice’. A shaky personal life has marred her chances to regain a foothold in getting better parts in movies. She has also split with Rocker Sambora after he had problems with his marriage. Until 2006 she continued be one of the most admired women by men, but the divorce has managed to turn the tables on the troubled star. Even Sheen’s future mother in law has hit out at the actress for maligning him. As gossip does the rounds, Denise Richards made news with a bizarre behavior. She had thrown a laptop of a photographer on some old ladies. Thankfully no charges were pressed on her. Personally she did well in her modeling career, which took her to the fashion capitals around the world. She was doing well but her ambition was to achieve more. Stardom in Hollywood seemed to be an apt choice. She also has had no qualms in doing guest appearances as a guest in television shows like ‘Life Goes On’, ‘Saved by the Bell’, ‘Married with Children’, ‘Eerie’, ‘Indiana’, ‘Beverly Hills’, ‘90210’, and ‘Seinfeld’.

Denise Richards has male fans sticking to comedy and some even want her to return to modeling. Her outbursts with Charlie Sheen off screen and her wild and wacky roles on screen make her the pin up material for fans. As her personal life comes to terms, this year Denise Richards is aiming to revert her focus on getting back to screen. Once is not enough for this American beauty who still speaks through her body.
