Article summary: Interracial marriages encounter many barriers. They suffer from a prejudiced society who perceives them as misfits. Often, they face the problem of "fitting in". Social taboos and inherent problems of differences between their respective cultures often combine with those problems already present in a marriage. While ethnic groups bring variety and richness to a society by introducing their own ideas and customs, we can't help but face the reality that the Civil Rights movement has been only recent in our history. With slavery in our past, interracial marriage prejudice adds to just one of the social injustices in society. Read entry article
