Children can be and are very creative with their Halloween costumes. One child is my neighborhood dressed up as a box of crayons and another child dressed up as a beautiful butterfly. Children's Halloween costumes are cute however, they also need to be safe for the child that wears the Halloween costume. It is recommended that children wear Halloween costumes that are light and bright in color such as yellow, pink, white, and orange. Some examples of light and bright colored Halloween costumes for children are as follows: a ghost, Big Bird, a pumpkin, a ballerina in a white or a pink tutu, or a butterfly. The reason that children's Halloween costumes need to light and bright is so that cars can see them crossing the street at night while they are trick or treating with a responsible adult such as their parents. Another Halloween tip is that children's Halloween costumes should be designed and made with face paint and makeup instead of a mask. This is because children can see well if their faces are made up with makeup instead of a mask. In addition, when children go out trick or treating with a responsible adult they should carry with a flashlight so they can see where they are going in the dark. Moreover, there should be a definite time for children to be home from their night of Halloween fun especially if it is a school night.
If you children are looking for period costumes there are a few popular children’s Halloween costumes that will satisfy both them and you. Cleopatra is always a popular period costume for children and teenagers. Also, a poet such as Shakespeare is also very popular with children and teenagers. Moreover, if you children are fans of the 1920s may I suggest that you purchase a kids flapper costume; this way children are having fun with a great holiday and learning about history at the same time. Therefore, children’s Halloween costumes can be fun, spooky, cute, and educational at the same time. Have a happy Halloween!
