great Pentecost Day is celebrated on the fifteenth day after Easter Sunday. Of course, you can also say that it is celebrated on the tenth day after Ascension Thursday. The great Pentecost Day is related and symbolic to the Jewish harvest festival known as Shavuot. This harvest festival is to commemorate the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus. This is described in the Book of Acts. This is a day that you can celebrated more and more around the world. In fact, the great Pentecost Day is one of those holidays that dates back a long time. It is a fact that most festivals and celebrations date back a long time, but sometimes it is hard to tell where they date back from. However, this is not the case for the great Pentecost Day. This is a day that we know very well where it comes from, and where it was derived from when it first came about.
The great Pentecost Day comes from the Greek name for Shavuot, which I said earlier. This is one of the three Pilgrimage Festivals required in the Law of Moses. The great great Pentecost Day is described mainly in Deuteronomy and Leviticus. As stated in Leviticus, the Pesah (also know as the Passover) begins on the fourteenth day of the first month know as Aviv. After that the next day, which would be the fifteenth (for those of you keeping track), and that would be the feast of unleavened bread. This is a feast that lasts for seven days, and work is prohibited. This celebration also marks the beginning of the harvest activities. As you can see, the great Pentecost Day is a holiday or a celebration that dates back a long time ago. This is one of those holidays and celebrations that you will not be able to forget about. Of course, I feel like all holidays and special events like this are great, and need to be remembered. However, I do feel like a lot of times we forget why we are suppose to celebrate the holiday that we are celebrating (in this case it would be the great Pentecost Day). This is not really a problem with adults, although, it can be from time to time, but it is mostly a problem with the kids. We have to remember why we are celebrating these days, otherwise there is no reason to do so. It is up to us to let our children know why we are celebrating these days, and that way they can pass it on to their kids.
Remember if you do not think that it is important to celebrate these days, or know why you celebrate days like the great Pentecost Day, then your kids are not going to either. This is something that you have to help teach them, because it is your job as a parent. Of course, it is also important to keep in mind that you cannot run your children's lives as they grow up. This is something that you have to know, otherwise you are going to end up pushing your kids away, and that is not what you want. You have to know how to respect what they choose to do, and you cannot change them. Asking someone to change who they are for you is wrong, and should never happen. If we have learned anything over the course of history, it should be that.
