At the same time he acted in his first major film in 1987, in the Blake Edwards film, 'Blind Date' along with Kim Bassinger and John Laroquette. Perhaps from this time the Almighty decided to be kind to him! Or else the turning point in his life wouldn't have happened. This was the time when he got the landmark of his life, the film Die Hard, and it was this film that catapulted him to fame giving the birth to an identity, Bruce Willis . He was instrumental in performing most of his own stunts in the film and the film grossed $138,708,852 in the global spectrum. Due to its immense box office success, the film would eventually tender three more sequels, with the most current film, Live Free or Die Hard releases in June 2007. though in the early 1990's Willis' career suffered a moderate slump starri several flop films like The Bonfire of the Vanities, Striking Distance and a film he co-wrote entitled Hudson Hawk among others.

It was in 1999, when after a slump of several years Bruce Willis managed to come back again. In this year he went on to the starring role in the film of M. Night Shyamalan, The Sixth Sense. With the release the film became both a commercial and critical success and also became a second milestone in his bleak career. From that time on his popular stint with his acting career is going on successfully with several nominations at different times. His future projects will include three other films that will debut between 2007 and 2009.
