There are many people in the world that remain relatively healthy through their lives. Therefore, they require very little, if any medical attention. Although, it is advisable that people receive their yearly checkup from their primary care physician in order to remain healthy. It is essential that people both exercise and eat healthy in order to remain in good physical and mental health. The National Breast Cancer Coalition is a grassroots organization that is comprised of hundreds of member organizations and tens of thousands of individuals dedicated to ending breast cancer through action and advocacy. The coalitions’ main goals are to increase federal funding for breast cancer research, improve access to high quality health care and breast cancer clinical trials for all women, and expand the influence of breast cancer advocates. The National Breast Cancer Coalition has an annual advocacy training program. Held in late April, the Annual Advocacy Training Conference brings together hundreds of breast cancer advocates and survivors for workshops, training sessions, and plenaries on the latest breast cancer science, research, and policy. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Therefore, every October, hundreds, if not thousands of products are emblazoned with pink ribbons, colored pink, or otherwise sold with the promise of a small portion of the total cost being donated in order to support breast cancer awareness and breast cancer research. There is a United States breast cancer awareness stamp. The first breast cancer awareness stamp was issued in 1996. There was another breast cancer awareness stamp issued in 1998. In addition, to the United States’ breast cancer awareness stamp Canada has a breast cancer awareness coin. The coin is a silver coin and on one side of the silver coin is a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and on the other side of the coin is an enameled pink ribbon.
