Though the game has become famous of late but in reality Bocce is a century old game having its origin in the ancient period. To the ancient treatise, the game of Bocce had its beginnings in the Italian Alps in the early Christian era, when the players at that time used to toss stones at a specific target. Though started as a mere form of pleasure, but within short days the game was taken up by the Roman soldiers in a competitive spirit. It was they who were responsible to employ balls instead of stones and in due course of time became responsible to spread the game throughout the length and breadth of the Roman Empire. But this being outside the periphery of the international community for which never got any such exposure and became an unknown, unheard concept. However, bocce is basically a fun and simple game. For the sake of a high competitive spirit in the game there happen to be two teams and each with the respective color of balls. For instance, on team is having four red bocce balls, and four green bocce balls, along with the jack ball. In essence, one plays with one team tossing the jack ball wherever they want. As an essential part of the game, one team starts after the tossing of the jack ball. The game is played in such a manner so that the person, who tossed the jack ball, may throw the first bocce ball at it. While one team throws the bocce ball, the other team does the same in response and they go back and forth like that, until they are out of bocce balls. Keep it in mind that the real intention of the game is to see who can get their bocce ball, or the most bocce balls, closest to the jack, which happens to be the target ball. It the team that gets the bocce ball closest to the jack, wins that very round. They get a point for their bocce ball which is closest, and they get a point for every other bocce ball they throw, that remains closer then the opposing teams' closest bocce ball. If all of the bocce balls are closer than any of the bocce balls of the other teams, then four points become available with the bocce ball set. Do you think that bocce is only of one type? In reality, there are different types of bocce ball sets. One can get bocce ball sets with six bocce balls, which means there shall be three balls for each team or else one can get a bocce ball set with four bocce balls for each team. What you can do at best, is to play the bocce ball with one player on each team. Since there is the existence of two teams it is two on two and each player comes to throw all the four of their balls. In reality, bocce is an exciting game. But however, there is a need to make it more popular. With this end in view no stone is being kept unturned to make this game both thrilling and gung ho.
It has been found that often there are some people who are better at the short game, where the jack is thrown nearby the players. If it happens such, then one have to be more careful in using a strategy through which the bocce balls of the other teams can be knocked further from the jack or the very jack nearer to the bocce balls can be knocked. But at the same time make it a point to prevent the other team from doing the same thing. When the jack is further away, a long game, bocce ball players tend to just try to aim at the jack, and that can be not easy enough without trying to hit the jack or the other teams' bocce balls, with the very bocce balls.
