The enchanting city of Pompano Beach is regular full time home to about 100,000 residents, but in tourist season, that population swells to almost double that. It's very similar to the city of Palm Beach, with its palm tree lined shopping districts and incredible real estate, but it hasn't reached notoriety like Palm Beach has. I have been to the stadium and it's a great place to watch a game. Plus, the city is located only minutes away from where one of Florida's basketball teams, The Miami Heat, and hockey team, The Florida Panthers, play. The city also has the Pompano Harness Track, a large and exciting horseracing complex. But if horse racing and sports isn't your thing, the city has more family friendly act ivies. Pompano Beach has some of Florida's best beaches. Miles and miles of white sand await you and your family. There are also lovely shopping districts and many concert venues. The city hosts an annual Music Under the Stars event at the Pompano Beach amphitheatre. The amphitheatre also hosts many concerts of big name artists like U2 and Dave Matthews Band. Pompano Beach in Florida also has the distinction of being home to the "Stars and Stripes," one of the Good Year Blimps. You can see this blimp buzzing around Florida skies during holidays and often during sporting events.
