Balloon Popping: Fun Not Just For The Kids

Balloon popping contests and games aren't just for kids at backyard birthday parties anymore. A growing segment of the adult population has taken a fascination in balloons and has even developed a balloon popping fetish. Adults enjoy popping balloons for a variety of reasons and through a variety of methods, although special care may be needed in order to prevent injuries.

Everyone remembers the good old days when you attended a child's birthday party complete with a variety of games, such as pin the tail on the donkey, heads up seven up or a balloon popping contest.  Everyone likes to be taken back to their childhood, and one of the ways many adults are doing this is by getting satisfaction and relieving stress by popping balloons as adults.

There is a growing number of adults in society today who have or are in the process of developing a balloon popping fetish.  These people enjoy popping balloons for a variety of reasons.  The most popular reason adults cite for why they enjoy popping balloons so much and have a fetish about it is, because it is fun.  Others do it because balloons were made to be popped, while others enjoy the noise it makes.

People who enjoy balloon popping of course have their favorite way to pop the balloons.  According to an internet survey conducted of people who have a balloon popping fetish, the number one way to pop a balloon is by sitting on it.  However, others enjoy laying on them, over inflating them, squeezing them or using a sharp object to poke them.

Most people with a balloon fetish only pop one to five balloons in one period, but about five percent of the balloon popping fans pop more than 550 balloons at one time, and these same five percent have at least once popped more than 2,500 in one period.  Thirty-sex percent of those involved in balloon popping do it every few months, while 34 percent have a balloon popping session at least once a week.

Most often balloon popping sessions occur at an individual's home.  However, some do take their balloon popping fetish to other locations such as a car, hotel, park, the woods, the beach, a bar or an abandoned building.  Over half the people who have a balloon popping fetish keep it to themselves.  They do not share their secret fetish with family or friends.  Some feel embarrassed by their desire and pleasure in popping balloons, while others believe that their family and friends will not be supportive of them.  Often times, this is why individuals with this secret fetish turn to the internet to meet others who enjoy and participate in balloon popping on a regular basis.  Sometimes members of these groups will get together and have a balloon popping session.  People who have a balloon popping fetish are often times called looners, and the majority of looners are men.

For those who do have a balloon popping fetish it is important to remember that the balloons can cause injuries and even death.  Injuries can occur especially to your eyes and face by a balloon popping.  The amount of force can cause the material to scratch your skin or eyes.  Suffocation can also occur if a piece of balloon gets sucked into your windpipe, as it sticks to your lungs or air passage cutting off the air supply.

Balloon popping is a fetish that is growing in popularity.  Several sites and balloon popping clubs are popping up around the world for adults interested in taking a step back towards their childhood and enjoying popping balloons.
