Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones is the fifth film to be released in the star war saga, and also the second in terms of internal chronology. It was released in the year 2002, directed and co-written by George Lucas. The Star Wars saga was written by George Lucas in the early 1970s, as a single and large outline for six films. It were in the years between 1999 and 2000, when the director transformed the original treatment for Episode II into a screenplay, where Jonathan Hales happened to be the co-writer.
Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones is the continuation of the earlier movie and happens to be set ten years after the Battle of Naboo. It is the most prominent time when the entire galaxy is on the verge of a deadly civil war. At this juncture there emerges the leadership of a renegade Jedi, named Count Dook, under whose direction thousands of solar systems threaten to secede from the Galactic Republic. Who is a Jedi? It is to be noted, that a Jedi is a representative of the members of an ancient and noble monastic organization. They are also noted for their talents in and observance of The Force. However when an assassination attempt is made on the noted Senator Padme Amidala, who is also the former Queen of Naboo, Anakin Skywalker a 19 year old Jedi apprentice is assigned to protect her. On the other hand, his mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi is bestowed with the responsibility of investigating the assassination attempt. But within a short time, all the four of Anakin, Padmé, and Obi-Wan are drawn into the heart of the separatist territories that results into the initiation of a new threat to the galaxy, the Clone Wars. Attack of the Clones from the very beginning relied in the greatest extent on the effective application of digital animatics that was considered as an opposition to the storyboards in order to conceive of the sequences beforehand for the sake of early editing in the film's production. In addition to the introduction of the digital camera, the Attack of the Clones was also found to give emphasis to "digital doubles" as computer-generated models that doubled for actors, in the same way that traditional stunt doubles did. Other than this the movie was also found to promote the growth of the authenticity of computer-generated characters through the introduction of an innovative and completely CGI-created version of the character Yoda. For the best utilzation in the film both of Rob Coleman and John Knol prepared two tests that featured well a CGI-animated Yoda using audio from "The Empire Strikes Back". As part of the shooting, the enitre operation of the principal photography occurred between June 26, in the year 2000 and September 20, of the same year in Australia at the studios of the 20 th Century Fox. The location of the shooting was completed in the Tunisian desert, at the Plaza deadna Espana in Seville in Spain, on Lake Como at the Villa del Balbianello and also in the royal palace, Palace of Caserta. At his own personal request, the character of Samuel L. Jackson, Mace Windu received a lightsaber that was found to emit a purple glow, as opposed to the traditional blue and green for "good guys" and red for "bad guys. Following this there were also some reshoots, which were performed in the month of March in the year 2001.

Attack of the Clones was released in the year May 16, 2002, but was generally perceived by the critics, however, not on par with the oiginal Star Wars trilogy. Keep it in mind it is the first motion picture that was shot completely on a high definition digital 24-frame system. Besides it is also the first film in the group of Star Wars which was out-grossed in the year of its international release in the international arena.
