A Single, Columbus Has No Shortage Of Choices

Added: 05/15/2007

As the capital of Ohio, the city of Columbus is home to the statehouse, many very large, prominent corporations and the best districts in the state for relieving the stresses of such demanding jobs! The brewery district, the short north, and German village collectively offer anything a single Columbus person of any age could possibly want! Let's not forget that Columbus is also homes of "The Buckeyes" and The Ohio State University!

A single Columbus college student living close to the campus of The Ohio State University can enjoy quaint pubs with outdoor patios overlooking the busy streets filled with passers-by of many different nationalities. This heavily populated area is called the short north. This is due not only to its location, but the short north consists of a short row of blocks inundated with art galleries, restaurants, parks and historic architecture. One of the most famous quotes made by a native when asked about the short north was said by Andrew Lidgus: his opinion of the area was, "The Short North is a miniature melting pot of different cultures, races and lifestyles. In truth, beauty and nature can live in harmony and learn from one another." As this area caters to either sex Columbus is a great place to experience the single life.

The brewery district in Columbus, Ohio is situated among the Budweiser manufacturing plant on the northwest portion of the city. Helping to make Bud Light, Budweiser and other Bud products tops in the state in sales, the brewery district is another posh area where the statesmen and lobbyists frequent restaurants, comedy clubs and outdoor eateries three out of four seasons every year! Some of the hottest single Columbus guys and gals make this their last stop during the weekend to visit The Red Zone. This is a multi room/multi genre dance club that entertains those who like to dance in cages hoisted above the dance floor, country music lovers and many other genres. With sixties style couches in “lobbies” between the differing rooms, one can enjoy a full bar, darts, pool and people watching. There is a dress code, however, and no one under the age of twenty one gets in. A single Columbus person of any age can enjoy themselves in their choice of “zones”. The bars known all over the nation like Banana Joes and The Elevator Brewery & Draught Haus , O'Reilly's Pub and Whiskey Dick's can be found and enjoyed as myriad bands play these houses each and every weekend!

A single Columbus, Ohio resident who is affluent in taste, style and means will enjoy the quaint cobblestone streets and magnificently appointed scrunched together homes of German Village. With a focus on upscale lighting and landscapes, the typical two story townhome or condominium a single Columbus resident can expect to pay an average (in 2006) of $370,000 to live in German Village. Cafés and art galleries line the village streets and walking is the preferred mode of travel. While many work far from home, the Jags, Mercedes, BMW’s and Lexus’ line the narrow streets and in the evening a single Columbus resident can admire the cherry wood and crown moldings inside the front dens where people spend evenings writing and reading or surfing the net.

A single Columbus resident has no shortage of places, situations or locales to choose a meeting for developing a relationship. Whatever their tastes, interests or hobbies, the single Columbus resident is sure to find someone who is right up their alley.
