Judging from the available statistics, one could say that San Angelo singles make-up more than 25% of the population within the City of San Angelo. At least two thirds of those singles are students at Angelo State University. In fact, one interesting dating location can be found at the University. That special dating location is the University Planetarium.

Certain annual San Angelo events provide an ideal excuse for a date. One of those events is the Miles Cotton Festival. A second such event is the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo. San Angelo’s Rodeo, like those in every Texas city, has a long history. Many local youth have shared their thoughts and feelings with a dating partner while enjoying the Stock Show and Rodeo.
Some of the youth at the San Angelo Rodeo might know something about the romance of a famous Texas bull-dogger. That well-respected cowboy had invented the technique known as “bull-dogging.” He had won the heart of a Texas girl by biting the lips of a steer. That act had helped him to bring the steer down, without the aid of a lasso.
That cowboy and bull-dogger, a man who answered to the name “Dusky Demon,” was Bill Pickett. While his steer-chasing exploits won him the admiration of Maggie Turner, they are not recommended activities for a man on his first date. Such activities might gain a skillful cowboy admission into the Cowboy Hall of Fame, but such actions are not part of the dating strategy used by the single men of San Angelo.
