An Adware Program Could Be On Your Computer

Added: 11/01/2007

When surfing the internet adware programs are something you have to be on the look out for. An adware program is a piece of software that plays, downloads, or displays advertising material on a computer automatically. It is very hard to keep this type of software from downloading itself onto your computer because it can slip right pass your anti virus protection software. The hackers that makes these type of programs are usually paid by the company that the advertisement is for, this is their motive to make the program.

When surfing the internet adware programs are something you have to be on the look out for. Adware program, stands for advertising-supported software. Once these programs get on your computer, they can be very hard to find. This is because a adware program can store itself to your computer without you even knowing it. If you do not know it is there, it is kind of hard to remove it. One way you can tell if a adware program is installed on your computer, is the way your computer runs. If your computer starts running a lot slower than it normally does, then there is a good chance you could have adware on your computer. The real question here, is why do hackers make a adware program? Well, companies will pay big bucks to get their name out there and advertise. The problem they have, is that most people do not watch the ads that are on web sites, thus they are wasting their money. So the companies will pay a computer hacker to make a adware program to install itself to your computer. Thus you have no choice but to watch their ad. Hackers usually use the money they receive from the companies to pay for development cost. So in a way these companies are funding hackers, which is wrong. Hackers are the whole reason we have viruses and worms to worry about. Why would any one want to give them money?

It is very hard to find and remove an adware program after it gets on your computer. In fact, it can be so hard that the companies try to bully you into buying their product. They will tell you that the only way to remove the ad is to buy the product. It is not fair to bully people that way, I mean this is not high school. So the best way not to get bullied, is to keep it off your computer to begin with. Of course, we already know that virus protection will not keep the adware program off your computer. The good news is that they make anti adware programs as well. Lots of these can be installed onto your computer as a internet browser add on. Keeping your anti adware program up to date is just as important, in my opinion, as keeping your anti virus program up to date. I do not know why the companies keep making adware, to me I would think that would make people want your product less. Of course, some people give into them and buy it just to remove the adware, thus the money they get in from that could be enough to keep them making more adware.

The sad part is, that most adware programs that get installed on your computer are from anti adware companies. They will make an adware program that only their anti adware program can take off. Thus people think that it is worth buying. This is a cheap marketing trick which lots of companies use. It is sad that people would trick each other like that. I wish we lived in a world that we did not have to worry about others tricking us. A world that we could surf the internet without fear of our computers becoming infected. The sad truth of the matter is that we do not, and we have to stay ahead of the game or stay off the internet. Just keep your software up to date and you should have no problem keeping adware programs off your computer. One day maybe the internet can be a safer place.
