Every day our world becomes just a little bit smaller. A business has a teleconference. An email is sent from Wyoming and arrives minutes later at its destination in Hong Kong. Web sites connect the young people with older people. Tolerance abounds like never before in the history of mankind. Wait...strike that last bit. Tolerance is not always found. Pockets of intolerance are found throughout the world and it is the duty of mankind to find ways to obliterate this intolerance.
One of the final frontiers for humanity is our diversity. We can conquer the world through technology and science. We can reach the cold realm of space. We can dive to the bottom of the ocean. But in many places, integration is at a standstill. It is hard to believe but it is true. There are towns in America where there are no African Americans, no Arabs, no Pakistanis, no Indians, and no Asians. These towns lie sheltered and stagnant with no outside growth from the fusing and influx of different cultures. Multicultural aspects are found in major cities in every state, but in isolated geographic areas, the multicultural expansion has passed these towns by.
One of the hardest things to accept in these small towns often comes from people who have moved away and returned. They are accustomed to being able to find romance and relationships with a variety of different individuals from different cultural backgrounds. One such story comes from a young woman named Autumn. Autumn has lived in many larger cities, ripe with multicultural aspects. St. Louis, Dallas, and Chicago all offered her the opportunity to use the Internet and an interracial dating service. This interracial dating service allowed her the opportunity to pursue a multicultural relationship and also meet new friends from a variety of multicultural backgrounds.
Autumn found herself moving back to her small hometown in a rural area in Arkansas. This is one of the above mentioned communities where the only diversification comes between Baptists, Southern Baptists and Methodists. But to be fair, there is the occasional member of the Church of Christ to stir things up a bit. By still being able to access the Internet, Autumn finds that she is still able to meet new individuals. She does have to travel over an hour to meet these new friends and gain new experiences though, but it has benefits in that she is able to introduce these new friends to people who might not ever leave that sheltered small town tucked high in the Ozark hills. It becomes a "pass it on" mentality that dulls the edges of hostility towards foreign ideas and different cultures.
The world is a grand place, filled with many wonderful people and brimming with new ideas and experiences. An interracial dating service affords a wonderful opportunity to those shy individuals to meet new people and have a multicultural view of the world and her inhabitants.
Each click of the mouse is another chance to find love and friendship with a stranger. Each successful meeting is another way to bring humanity closer to finding understanding and tolerance with people different from themselves.
