America’s college fashions and the college uniform of other countries are in very different categories. The college students of America’s past did have stricter dress codes of college attire requirements that could be considered today as the student’s college uniform or adult school uniform. But although the clothes requirements were very conservative, like dresses or pants suits for girls and suits or other occasion dress attire for guys, the clothing requirements were not matching like in many other countries college uniform dress codes.
There are those countries around the world that requires college students to were their matching uniforms. Japan, China, Korea, North Korea, Cuba, England and so many others tend to lean toward the adult school uniform. Now of coarse most all kinds of Academies all around the world, including America requires unity in wearing the adult school uniform of the specific academy attended. It is the same for the children eighteen and under too, to wear matching uniforms in these other countries.
The whole concept and reasoning for most schools and or colleges of America and any other country that chooses uniforms for their students, believe that the uniform keeps order, unity, school spirit, equality among students, and better bond between most all students, for less bullying on the school campus. There are also statistics finding that students of every age does much better on concentration and grades through out all years of school including college. The socio-economical levels, which can cause so many issues with the younger kids especially, are removed with uniforms too. This is true too with the college uniform.
There are countries and cultures today that are truly shocked by some of the ways allowed for the young college adult student; and especially the eighteen and under school kids of America. The dress of American kids and college students dress many different ways; fashions today have been pushed to the dress code limits in the eyes of some. Provocative is popular and fashionable to be in your personal dress code. Almost anything goes on America’s college campuses when it comes to clothing. The spring and Summer time terms on campuses can be especially challenging for the American campus college boards. There are now fashions showing most all of the young adult bodies during these warm months of the year.
It is easy to understand what both sides are saying about school uniforms of any kind being required for the school student. But even with the benefits of unity and social equality, there are also benefits to freedom and personal rights over constant dictatorship and control in every aspect of a human’s life. Choosing our clothes over a college uniform or adult school uniform, means so much to many in America. Clothes are a way of personal expression, and when this is removed, a part of the person’s expressive personality is too being removed or hidden. This is unimaginable to most in American culture of today.
