If you live in the United States then I am sure you are aware and very happy to have the holiday known as Labor Day. American Labor Day is a great celebration for the average working man. This is a day of rest for him, or at least is suppose to be; however, most people have more going on during Labor Day than just resting. People love American Labor Day because it takes place on a Monday, which give most people a long weekend. Lots of people already off on Sundays, so they get an extra day to be away from work. Kids at school get a long weekend, and that is why the kids love American Labor Day so much. No matter what people are doing on Labor Day it is usually pretty low key. Most of the time you will see people enjoying a picnic or a barbecue. That seems to be a real American way to celebrate this great day of rest. Nothing says fun like getting together with a group of friends and have a good old American cook out. This is a great time to get together with your friends or family and just sit back and relax. Nothing says good old American Labor Day like fireworks. This seems to be a way to celebrate almost anything in America, we love getting together to watch great sky artwork.

Usually families with kids take American Labor Day as a last chance to travel before school starts back up. See because American Labor day happens at the end of summer, most kids here are still on summer vacation. Some kids hate to see American Labor Day to come because they know that it marks almost the end of their time off from school. If you are a teenage you will view it as the last time to have a party or to hang out at the mall with your friends before school starts. Lots of kids get summer jobs and some of them come to an end about this time as well so they can be prepared to go back to school and study. As I talked about before, not all schools are on summer vacation during American Labor Day. Such cities like Atlanta and Nashville have school that starts as early as the 24th of July. However, one of the most important things for most man at this time is the start of a new season of the NFL (also called the National Football League). Also NCAA College Football starts as well. There is a difference here, because the college football usually starts on Labor Day and the NFL starts the Thursday after.

American Labor Day is a happy day for most people. It is a time to set back and relax and prepare for another long year of work . It is said that too many Americans work their whole life away, at least this way they get at least one day off a year. Many Americans do not even take vacations, in lots of other places that is not something that is a problem. Maybe they should make more days like Labor Day so families get to spend more time together before they have to go back to work. However, it is always about the money and most companies do not what to have to close down for longer then a day. In fact, most people do not want stores to close down for a day at all. We are starting to see stores that say open all year around even on Christmas and Labor Day, soon it could be work 24/7 so enjoy it while it is here.
