American bodybuilding offers as much glitz and glamour as it does beefcake, but there are more people involved in bodybuilding in the US than anywhere else. American body building has even spawned a secondary craze, as today there are as many women body building as there are men. American body building is not gender specific, but it has long been a male dominated sport. American body building gets tons of exposure, as you can even find coverage on some sports networks. Body building over all has become nearly a science, with competitions becoming fierce. Long gone are the days of the sport being dominated by one or two men. Muscle structure and exercises have become so advanced, it gets difficult to determine who is more defined these days. Of course the average person works out to stay in shape, not for competition. The average person has more availability to work out than they have in the past. There are plenty of advanced in home workout systems, from fifteen minute exercise systems to full blown home gymnasiums. If the home is not optimal for you, there are thousands of spas and gyms to choose from. The days of smelly sweaty gyms, like the days of bodybuilding being a small, little known sport, are in the rearview mirror. Today the modern gym offers a nice sterile environment, usually with on hand staff members and trainers that can help devise personal workout routines built just for you. These health clubs offer free weights, machines like Stairmasters, usually aerobics classes, pools and hot tubs, universal presses and machines. These clubs are a body builders dream. More often that not, these health clubs are a very viable and affordable alternative to sinking a ton of money into building ones own personal gym. Building a gym in your home can be very expensive, though of course it’s probably the most convenient option when it comes to working out. Home gyms can cost thousands of dollars whereas a club membership can cost as little as a few hundred dollars a month. When you factor in the trainers and pools and tracks and such, health clubs can be a wonderful option for people to stay in shape. For the advanced body builder, though, a home gym is probably the best option, as they must work out all the time, especially if they are in competitions.
Whether you are an advanced body builder, a competitive body builder, or a complete novice, one thing is for certain, the ease with which one can find the equipment and tools necessary to getting in shape are quite easily found. There’s really no reason for someone to not get into shape in this day and age. American body building, with its glamour and availability, should rise in popularity for some time to come, particularly since youth now is even encouraged to work out. Most high schools offer weight lifting classes.
