The Sea Inside was made in 2004 by Alejandro Amenabar, and is based on the real life story of Ramon Sampedro (who is played by know other then Javier Bardem). The Sea Inside follows this Spanish ship mechanic who is left quadriplegic after a driving accident gone bad. Ramon Sampedro fought a 28 year long campaign for the support of euthanasia and his right to end his own life. The movie is sad, because of everything this man has to go through. The Sea Inside is a movie that you must see to be able to see what a great job was done in the film. The Sea Inside is not your typical movie, and I think that is why people liked it so much. In fact, people tend to like stories that are based on real peoples life. This proves that must people do like to learn something whenever it is given to them in a way they want to hear it. Alejandro Amenabar does a great job getting all the feeling that you need to feel across while watching this film. Of course, this is a movie that is not going to leave a dry eye in the house, but I think that is what makes it that much better of a movie. When a movie can give you as much feelings as The Sea Inside did, then you know that you got a great movie on your hands.

However, I am not the only one that thinks this was a great movie, the critics did as well, and that is saying a lot because they can always fine the negative of a film. The Sea Inside, however, walked away with so many awards, they must not of been able to find anything bad to say about it. First of all, it won the 2004 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. Also, it won the 2004 Golden Globe for the same category. Of course, the Goya Awards is where this movie really cleaned house. In fact, The Sea Inside won 14 awards at the Goya Awards including Best Film, Best Lead Actor, and Best Director. It also received the award of Best Lead Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Actress, and let's not forget Best Original Screenplay. Those are a lot of big time awards and are not usually won all by the same movie. Any movie that can bring home that many awards from that many different places has to be a good movie. Like I said, people like movies that are based on real stories and real events. Why, because they feel like they are learning something new. This is something that really happened, and it lets you feel like you were there, like you saw history in the making. Movies that are based on fictional stories are great, but they will never leave you with the impact of what a true story does.

In you have not seen The Sea Inside, it is a movie that you are going to have to find online. If you are lucky you may be able to find it in your local movie rental store, but only if they have an imported section (which most Blockbusters do). If you are looking to buy this movie, however, you are only going to find it online. You may get lucky and find it at a Best Buy, but once again, that is only if they have an imported section of movies. Also, you are going to have to pay more for it at a store than you will have to pay for it online. Even after you think about shipping and stuff like that, this movie is still cheaper online than in any store.
