Aichomomancy is similar to Acultomancy in that it uses sharp pointed objects to show patterns to read.

Aichomomancy is similar to Acultomancy in that it uses sharp pointed objects to show patterns to read. The word is derived from the Greek word for spear which is aichme. These readers could use pins, knives, forks, nails, and handmade pieces of wood sharpened to a point. The reader would simply drop these onto a flat surface and find the different patterns and read them.

There are other forms of this method of divination. There is aichomania which is when a person wants to be punctured with a sharp object. There is aichmophobia where the person has a great fear of any pointed object. Some people with this phobia will not eat with silverware. They just eat with their hands. There is also the aichmorhabdophobia. This fears that someone will harm you with a pointed object.

There are people who are afraid of needles and different kinds of trees that have pointed leaves such as a holly tree. There are some who are afraid of knives and any other kind of pointed silverware. There are some who can't even have a hobby of building because they are scared to death of the pointed nails used. Everywhere you look, you will find a person afraid of something pointed or sharp.
