A blogger is almost an owner of a webpage, or own little website to write as they wish. They are free to write what they want and when they want. A blogger will usually write about something that interests them and it will have their own personal touch to the website. Adding new material to the website is called blogging. Blogging is the biggest part of the website, without the blogging there would be no website.
A blogger has total freedom on the website that they own. They can post pictures, add comments from newspapers, anything that they think is important to the website. Also they will want to have lots of visitors so the blogger will update the site regularly to make sure that they can get as much visitors as possible. These websites have been also given the nickname of weblogs. A weblog is still the same site in principal, the blogger will update them, but they are in a form of an online journal or diary.
A weblog is the bloggers online diary, but it is also shared over the web. There is no privacy with this diary. These weblogs and blogs are updated daily for the sole reason of keeping the website fresh and new. The bloggers use software that allows them or anyone with none or little technical knowledge to keep the website fresh and exciting for any visitors or readers of the weblog or blog page.
A weblog or blog is not usually a huge amount of writing about a certain subject. The blogs are kept informal and consist of somewhere in the region of about two hundred to five hundred words. The bloggers understand that web browsers will not want to wade through loads and loads of text, so to combat that the bloggers keep the articles/blogs as short as they can while still answering the question that they raise in the articles.
Not too long ago there were hardly any bloggers on the Internet at all. There was no demand for them and nobody even suggested them. During the late nineties however there was a rapid growth of bloggers and blogs appearing on the Internet. The growth continued steadily until the middle of 1999 when Pitas was launched. Pitas was the first free build your own weblog then and the growth exploded. During the same year Pyra released Groksoup and Blogger. They used web-based tools that could be used with ease; you could have your site up and running within hours.
There is still a huge growth of blogs and bloggers, even today they are using these free web-based tools and are building websites with ease. The explosion of bloggers is still continuing even today. There are to many weblogs and blogs to count nowadays. The blogs contain every bit of news from every thing you could possibly think of. People may be talking about their most recent holiday or discussing about how to grow the best flowers. These bloggers are sharing their thoughts and opinions with people who are in different countries and continents with so much ease.
It is unbelievable to imagine that in the mid-nineties nobody noticed or cared about the weblogs and bloggers. But now everyone wants to be a blogger and have their own little web space to share thoughts, comments and memories with complete strangers.
