Bike to work

By on 14 May, 08 · 2 photos

I live a distance from work. I ussually get the bus to town. But it takes at least an hour and a half. Also costs over £8 for the days trip.
So I thought I would bike to work. I used to be really fit. But now Im old and lazy.
I fitted a rack onto my Virage MTB. Then my pannier bags.
I ussually get up at 6 20am. But on friday I got up at 6.
I got my bike clothes on and put my normal clothes and some food in my bags.
I started off after 6 30am. At 7 I took off my sweat shirt, as it was getting warm.
I got to the edge of town in an hour and a half. 13 miles. It took another 30 minutes to do the 4 miles to work.
I got changed and worked from 9 till 6. I was ok. Wasnt sore or tired.
I left after 6 15pm. Thought I would bike along on the path beside the dual carraigeway through town. Ive walked along there many times. And seen bikes going along there. But the tarmac is really bumpy. So could do no speed.
Was getting tired. It took an hour to get to the edge of town.
I took some photos. Then left town. Never realised that there was a big hill to go up there. I was stopping for food and pictures every so often.
I walked some hills.
I saw a caravan tha had a wheel of it. Stuck under the back.
I got rained on for 5 minutes.
Got home after 9. Took 3 hours to get home from work. 2 hours from the dge of town.

Have to get fitter. Do more biking.

night clubbing....out and about

Oh do you remember the David Essex song?
I was at work on saturday. Yogi asked me if I would come out on the staff night out, in Dundee. But I dont live in Dundee. So if I go out in Dundee its straight from work. They go out at 8.30 or 9. So I would have 2 or 3 hours in the pub headstart on them. Id be hammered. Then my last bus is at 10. So I would either see them for a little while. Or go out with them and get a taxi back home. My brother got a taxi back from Dundee at christmass. Cost £30. Thats all the money I had on me. Plus Im to tight to spend all that. I geuss I could have crashed at someones house. But that would mean that I would have to stay till the finish. I would be dead by that time.
I had seen that the night club in the nearer town had free entry. So I got the 7pm bus home and then went into town at 10pm. The first pub I went into was real busy. They had a band on. Also pretty barmaids :p There was a hen night. They had an inflatable man, and a mans thing.
I went to a couple other pubs. They were real busy. I went to the Night club after 11. There was no one there. I went to the bar. There was no draft lager. It was broken. I got a bottle of Millars in a glass. It tasted horrible. Think there was cleaner in the glass. I hung around. Not many came in. I found out my watch glows in the lights.
I left to go to another pub. They were real busy. I caught the barmaids eye. And got served in front of 10 others, thats what you get for being extremely handsome. :$
I went for a Taxi. Got one immediately. None of this hanging around for over an hour in the cold like the last time I was at the club. The Taxi driver knew my brother

Is the last day of my weeks holiday

I was planing of it being a day when I play with all my toys.
Go out on the blue Falcon, to collect a bike frame.

Then out on my BMX. For a thrash along the paths

Then out on my Grifter for a fly about the roads
Maybe out on my Unicycle and my skateboard...just learning how to go them though.

Then for a few games on the playstation.

But its sunny just now. its been raining, supposed to get worse.
Too lazy and hung over to do much
